MBUTO IN THEATRE FOR PEACE
Mbuto Living Theatre is performing in the disaster hit district of Karonga. Karonga was hit by earthquake last year and floods this year. According to the Director of the group Dennis Kumwenda the group came up with this programme as a way of promoting peace. He said disasters create frustration and bitterness in affected people resulting into violence in households and the community. Mbuto believes the theatre will help to relieve emotions and help the people to face the challenge creatively. The programme is funded by the group itself. However, the group is appealing for funds so that all affected people are reached.
